5th AnnualJubilee Step Show

 

Step Teams and Organizations:

 

The National Voting Rights Museum will host the fifteenth annual “Jubilee Step Show” this event showcases the talents of our youth while teaching the stories of the Voting Rights Movement. The Step Show is one of the oldest, largest and most unique events of its kind; we provide monetary prizes for 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place winners. This year we will have a High School and College division that will compete separately. We would like to invite all High School and College Step Teams to participate in this historic event on Friday, February 28, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. at Pickard Auditorium located at 400 Washington Street Selma, AL. All groups participating should arrive at Pickard by 6:00 p.m., each group is provided tickets for the steppers and two advisors.

 

Your registration fee of $25.00, list of steppers and sponsors are due by February 23, 2020. 

 

This year the Jubilee theme is:

Breaking Barriers: Building Bridges to the Beloved Community

The groups will be judged on the following categories:

 

PERSONAL QUALITIES - 20 PTS
Overall Group Appearance: 10 pts.
Uniformity: 10 pts.
   
ORGANIZATION - 10 PTS
Time of Performance (10 – 12 minutes): 10 pts.

ADHERENCE TO THE THEME: 30 PTS
“Stepping for Justice; Remember-Recommit-Restore”

DELIVERY AND PRESENTATION: 40 PTS
Entrance: 10 pts.                        

Precision: 20 pts.
Exit: 10 pts.
